I know what it’s like to be a woman who struggles to see her own beauty and power. For years I wrestled with my body image, my self-value and the biggest one “I’m not good enough”. Caught up in my own mind games of not looking how my friends looked or how girls in magazines looked, I decided to do some work on myself and dammmnnn was it the most confronting thing I did, but also the most incredible and rewarding thing I could have done.   

HOWEVER, I’m going to be completely honest. I still have days of imposter syndrome, “I’m not good enough” and hating the reflection staring back at me in the mirror. The only difference is I have done enough work on myself and have rituals in place that I can love myself, be kind and reset my mental space after allowing those thoughts and feelings to be there. This was so powerful to me and the more I spoke to other women, I learnt that I wasn’t alone with these thoughts and feelings; every women was having them and some knew how to deal with them and others had no clue. This lead to my journey towards Women’s empowerment portraiture.  

I’m on a mission to empower women to love who they are by creating an experience that showcases their true self, while reminding them how strong, beautiful, and confident they are. 

In this blog series, I have asked beautiful, amazing everyday women to share their unique personal stories, what they've learned about how they see themselves and what snippet of advice the would offer to those struggling to see their own beauty. Through this series, my hope is for others to see that they are not alone - that other women think like this, feel like this, go through this too.
